God's Pottery - Fake or Real Christians?

God's Pottery is a faux-Christian acoustic duo comprised of New York City comedians Krister Johnson (Gideon Lamb) and Wilson Hall (Jeremiah Smallchild). The two Upright Citizens' Brigade alumnus dreamt up the act four years ago. The duo met at the Swarthmore College Department of Theater in Swarthmore, PA, where they graduated in 1995.

Fake. There is no Christ our Leader College, nor does any other "Christian" group (they say) they are affliated with exist. Just a couple of liberal arts majors mocking Christianity. It might be funny but it's very sad.

Um, no. Not offensive, just sad. Not funny, just annoying. The songs were clever but I could only take about 3 minutes of it before I was turned off.

Good try guys, maybe next time!

My husband accuses me of being a reality show addict b/c I watch all of them! And I was excited about tuning in to Last Comic Standing. However, watching this pair made me sick and I had to stop watching. "Offended" is not the word for it. I felt like vomiting on the television every time they took the stage. There is absolutely nothing funny about their little act. I have a very open-minded sense of humor, but blasphemy is never part of it.

I thought it was pretty funny. I myself am Athiest, but I don't really not believe in anything. I just choose that there isn't one answer for anything. :D Anyways, don't get pissed off because they just wanted to do some religious humor. Meaning . . Crystal, get off your high pedestal . . learn where they are coming from. "Blasphemy" hah! I thought they were good. :D They are just having a good time and so am I.

Call me stupid but I thot at first these guys were sincere. It would be funny if they truly respected Jesus, but no sincere Christian would put Jesus alongside Catwoman as their hero (per Gideon). I at one time laughed at Jesus... 5'9" from Palestine, changes water into wine... but not anymore. These men will be ashamed of their mockery of Jesus one day.

I agree with Bill.

I respect their right to say what they want, but how is making other's core beliefs and values look stupid an exampl of good comedy. At first, like Bill i thought they were actually funny, real christians poking fun at the stereotypes of christians being zelous fanatics and freaks that no one can relate too. But if your funny, if you really have a good sense of humor, your entire platform shouldn't have to rely on making others look stupid. So in the end you're just not that funny anyways. Just because you have the right to make fun of other's religion doe smean you should exercise. Now if they ever convert, they're going to look like stupid hypocrital. Which they would be relunctant to do, s they going to miss out on something awesome.
